Our own Mrs Graham used to work in retail! Read on to find out what her typical day was like! Early Shift tomorrow, I say to myself when setting my alarm for 04.30am. Alarm goes off, shower uniform on and out the door as I have to be in the shop for 05.30am. I pick up the newspapers and magazines that have been left outside the shop hoping that it’s not going to be a long day. Walking into the shop I know I have 30 minutes before the doors open to the customers and there will be the regulars queuing outside to get in. Quickly I go out the back of the shop to check how much delivery is left from the late shift last night, check the handover shift notes and make a coffee. Right plan of action, magazines in newspapers, price changes, delivery, reductions lets go. Don’t forget to check the work phone in case someone has called in sick! I lay the newspapers out in order and place the correct magazines next to the right newspaper and then start the conveyor belt system to get them...

A day in the life of a call centre worker FOR most people, having a stranger make death threats to you over the telephone may be considered cause for concern, but it's all in a days work for the lowly call centre worker. W here initially one might quake at the prospect of being insulted, broken down and generally aggravated to the point where you nearly lose your cool (and your job), it's amazing how quickly you learn to adjust, retaliating in that irritating robotic voice. A Week in Basic Training - The British Army

My name is Andrew Vaughan, I am 26 years old and this is my story so far. I have just finished my fourteenth week of Phase 1 training at ATR Winchester where I hope to go on to join the Royal Artillery. Monday Today marked the start of practising the parade itself with the other troops on the square. We did this in our barrack dress which combined with the extreme heat is killer! We’ve also started paying extra attention to bulling our shoes, as shoe inspections will be coming up to make sure ours are up to standard for our big day. The basic format of the parade was covered today and the RSM made sure everyone knew what was happening. In the evening, we showed our skit video to our Troop Staff whilst we ordered dominos in. We spent a lot of time on the skit and it was received very well by all (it was hilarious!). Tuesday Today was a sad day in one respect. It was our Troop Commanders last day and another would stand in for him for our parade. He bid us farewell and wished us luck...
